The Best Travel Gadget for Backpackers

Travel gadgets are smart little things that save time, money, stress, and space in your luggage.

I chose a number of travel gadgets that I found useful and smart, to make your backpacking trip easier. I have included technology and non-technology gadgets.

When I shop for travel equipment, I always look for novels, interesting accessories.

I am looking for a compact and lightweight gadget, because I like minimalist packing and some of them have become important items in my packing list.

Use these practical tools to have safer, simpler trips and to make life on the road more comfortable.

You can also use this list to find original Christmas gifts or birthday gifts for backpackers or other travelers you know. Or, better yet, send this post to your friends who are trying to find gift ideas for you!

Spork

Spork is a spoon and fork (plus a small knife) in one piece. This is a smart non-technological tool that I have been carrying on my journey for many years now.

This is a very useful outdoor cutlery, especially if you like street food or a picnic while traveling.

Sporks are small and don’t take up any space in your day pack. Just take it everywhere with you if you need it.

You can find sporks in various colors, usually made of plastic, but I also found that made of durable titanium with an anti-slip handle.

Smart travel scarves

If you travel with a scarf, why not make it more useful by using a scarf with a hidden bag!

This is a smart solution for when you have to carry your passport or cellphone – hide it in your scarf pocket.

They are called travel scarves because the pocket size is very fitting for the passport, but you can use it for other small items as well.

This is a good way to hide things that you need to hide from pickpockets, or make sure you have everything for you, say when you are on a night bus or flight.

Shawls come in a variety of colors and patterns, so you can match them with other clothes on your packing list.
